Metropolia University of Applied Science (Helsinki, Finland, 2013-2015). Lecturer and course development for 1st & 2nd year Sustainable Building Engineering courses including Introduction to Studies, Life Cycle Costing, Life Cycle Assessment, Environmental Risk Management, and Environmental Assessment.

Granlund Oy – Environmental Engineering (Helsinki, Finland, 2012). Sustainable Building Consulting, specializing in LEED and BREEAM rating systems.

Industry Participation

Green Building Professional (GB Pro) Trainer. An initiative of the European Regional Network of the World Green Building Council. Ryan has provided multiple training seminars to dozens of professionals, on behalf of the Green Building Councils of Croatia, Romania, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Ryan was part of the team representing Finland on the LEED International Roundtable´s Environmental Classification Workgroup. The group released LEED v2009 Building Design + Construction Alternative Compliance Paths for Europe in October of 2014.

Member of the Technical Advisory Committee for Project Neutral, an organization based in Toronto, Canada, dedicated to transitioning neighbourhoods to carbon neutrality.

Facilitator, coach, and host in the 2015 edition, and participant in 2014 edition, of the Pioneers into Practice program, administered by Climate-KIC, Europe's largest public-private innovation partnership working to address the challenges of climate change. The program takes climate change professionals from one region of Europe and matches them with work placements in other regions with the goal of enhancing technical skills and experiences, and to strengthen pan-European climate change professional networks.

Regular participant in events of Green Building Council Finland, Nordic Innovation, and various other Finnish and Canadian green building bodies.
